Hello, gorgeous brides!
I hope you’re all doing okay as the world’s longest year ever rolls on. And on.
I thought I’d try to distract you from the stresses of wedding planning today with the perfect P’s: A Pink dress, a Polka dot veil called Poppy and a Puppy called Phoebe!
A puppy who is so cool she even has her own Instagram account!

Going Dotty For Poppy
Our spotted tulle veil, Poppy, was absolutely perfect for this 60’s inspired shoot. The dusky, blush pink dress from Jarlo London may not be a traditional bridal gown colour, but our Poppy is not a traditional veil either so it was a match made in fashion-forward bride heaven.
Dotted tulle veils have an amazing ability to look both retro and totally modern at the same time. Here, the Poppy veil has been made to look even more 60’s-fabulous by wearing right at the top of the head quite near the front which is exactly how it was worn back in the day.
It was also really popular in the 60s for veils to be quite full and really frame the face on either side, which also happens when you pin it in towards the front. Love it.

Polka Dot Veil Fabric
The Poppy veil features quite a subtle small dot throughout but there are spotted tulles with even bigger dots available out there if you’re interested in really going to town with a polka dot veil. Just get in touch.

The Blushing Bride
Now, I have to confess we did cheat a bit for this photoshoot as the Poppy veil is a single layer veil and therefore you’re not really supposed to wear it over the face like this (that’s what two-layer veils with a blusher layer are for), but the spotty tulle over the face looks so amazing I’m not even mad about it.
In fact, I’ve seen photographers do this little trick with real bride’s single layer veils on their wedding day as well, sometimes even draping them over the groom too! So I think you can get away with it in a picture where you can’t see the back. But just know: you really should have a two-layer veil if you want to wear the veil over the face like this for the actual wedding ceremony. 😉
And you should because it looks fabulous, doesn’t it?

The Team Behind the Scenes
This shoot would not have been possible without the fabulous Lauren at Hidden Treasures Ibiza. A wedding planner extraordinaire, she’s dedicated so much of her time during the pandemic to creating these dreamy shoots with photographer Stephanie Shenton. This is already our 3rd or 4th shoot over there.
And what a location! Any brides thinking of a destination wedding, imagine strutting your stuff around this amazing place. And you can also get married in the Dalt Villa Cathedral too.
I’m so obsessed with the colours of this shoot I’m already trying to plan another one here. The creamy-blush backdrop is just absolutely divine.

Be sure to check out more of Stephanie Shenton’s delicious photos and some of their past styled shoots on Instagram @7shootsofsummer and check out the full list of suppliers below.
And if you’re thinking of getting married in Ibiza, Lauren’s your go-to gal.
