The Flower and Pearl Veil in Cathedral Length
Your wedding day is a canvas on which you paint your dreams, and every detail matters. The dress, the venue, the flowers—each element contributes to the story you’ll remember forever. At the heart of this narrative is the bride, adorned in her finest attire. And when it comes to bridal elegance, nothing quite matches the timeless charm of a cathedral length veil adorned with flowers and pearls.
Designing Dream Veils: A Journey of Creativity
As a wedding creative dedicated to crafting bespoke wedding veils, I have had the privilege of being part of countless love stories. But there’s something truly magical about creating a veil that so perfectly matches a bride’s dress as this one does. This cathedral length veil with flowers and pearls was inspired by the floral detailing on the dress and is going to make the perfect accompaniment. I truly hope I get to see some pictures of the bride on her Big Day once it arrives! For now, though, let me take you on a journey through its design process, and why it holds a special place in my heart.
The Intricate Floral Dance
One of the most captivating aspects of this veil is the delicate dance of flowers. To create this piece, I carefully selected three different sizes of flowers. Two of them are crafted from satin, providing a soft and elegant texture that complements the overall look. The third, slightly larger flower, is made from silk organza, infusing the veil with an ethereal quality.
I knew I needed to find a flower shape with nice round petals and that’s what was on the dress so anything too pointy or spiky wouldn’t have worked. I ended up choosing these matching florals made from slightly stiffened bridal fabrics helping them keep their shape and also be slightly 3D. I didn’t want the flowers to flop! Selecting the perfect materials is always a meticulous process that requires hours (and hours) of scrolling through lace supplier’s catalogues for the exact components I need. Although I can use keywords to narrow down my search, in reality, it’s a visual search, scrolling and scrolling until just the right shape/style you’re looking for pops up.
With these flowers, I loved how the satin flowers exude a subtle shine, while the silk organza flower added an airy, dreamlike quality. When combined, they created the dimension I was looking for.
The Allure of Pearls: A Touch of Luxury
Now, let’s talk about the pearls. In this cathedral length veil, the pearls really added the texture I was looking for. I used three different sizes (3mm, 4mm, and 5mm) and arranged them in a very organic, natural scatter to add even more depth and dimension to the design. Each pearl is carefully hand-set and adds the perfect amount of subtle sheen and lustre to the design.
What I love most about this veil is the natural layout of the floral and pearl elements. It’s like you’ve just walked through a fairytale meadow and picked up some petals and pearls along the way!
